The Community Connections Program connects volunteers to neighbors to provide free supportive services.

Services are free and often enable our low-income elderly and low-income disabled community members to live independently in their homes longer. People in need may receive assistance including those with mental or physical health concerns, people who are unable to leave their home often or those that are physically challenged.

Stepping Stones can also deliver Senior Commodity Boxes to approved seniors and will connect volunteers to seniors for home visits.

The Community Connections program works to provide free supportive services and combat social isolation.

Services Offered

  • Installation of products for personal safety

  • Assistance in making a home handicap accessible

  • Referrals to other community resources

If you require assistance, please contact our Community Connections Manager at 715-235-2920 x203.

Stepping Stones would not be possible without the hard work of all of our volunteers. Volunteers are needed to help provide these services to our community members, and also to help with things at our agency.

If you are seeking volunteer experience whether for a class, Community Service requirements, or for a way to engage meaningfully with the community, volunteer with Stepping Stones!

Stepping Stones is a great internship site for almost any major, especially Social Work, Human Development, Sociology, Psychology, Dietetics, Communication, and Criminal Justice. Interns learn many valuable skills ranging from reception to working in the food pantry and warehouse to working with shelter clients. We will work with you on your schedule. Please contact Julie Bendel, Volunteer Coordinator, at the number and email provided in the application above if you are interested in an internship.
